Food and resources may become scarce during times of warfare. This occurs due to a number of reasons but is also often intentionally applied as a form of collective punishment and as a weapon. We are currently witnessing the use of collective starvation as a weapon of war in several areas globally.

She aims to serve the Muslim American audience by elevating the dietetics profession. She does this by providing educational content to dietitians (as well as other healthcare professionals) to help them better serve their Muslim, religious, and other minority patients and clients.
